The Durga Suktam is found in Taittiriya Aranyaka, the major sacred text for Hindu rituals. Its lyrics mostly address Agni, the sacrificial fire. Agni also implies Goddess Durga indirectly. Through the Suktam, the devotee requests the Goddess and Agni to offer protection, grant moksha, happiness, and prosperity. Chanting the Durga Suktam bestows protection, removal of obstacles in life, good fortune, prosperity, and victory. It can also help one to attain moksha.
