Lord Dhanvantari is the God of Ayurveda and one of Vishnu’s many avatars. The Vedas and Puranas describe him as the physician of the gods. Hindus pray to Dhanvantari for relief from diseases and sound health. He is said to have emerged from the Milky Ocean during Samudra Manthan. Ayurveda doctors celebrate his birthday on Dhanteras. Chanting this Mantra helps invoke his blessings for protecting one from illness and restoring good health.
